Stupidity AND Arrogance

Decided to go to Haiku Honda service because the tyre became flat within 24 hrs of filling it.

Service guy arrogant as usual.

Tried to increase my charges by saying clutch lining needs to be replaced. I said no because they changed some clutch related thing last time and the vehicle became worse.

Maybe it needed to be replaced but my past experience overrules whatever lies (or possibly truth) I was hearing.

Still added clutch service charges extra to the bill in addition to normal service charge.

Thought he was a smarter than me and had to prove it by cheating me.

I paid, especially after the lady who was speaking to a customer in english changed to kannada to speak to me, obviously for her English is a high class language and I don't look high class to her.

Then the other bill person who was a man:

I ask, “Is this clutch charge part of service charge?”

"Part of and separate."

I ask again, “Part of or separate?”

This time he raises his voice, “Part of but separate, sir!”

I say, “Part of AND separate?”

He again shouts, “Part of but separate, sir!”

Stupidity AND Arrogance.

Cockiness that they can cheat me and that I can't do anything about it.

Typical Indian.

I doubt he would talk that way or even try to cheat the tall, fair, obviously overprivileged compared to me, customer before me.

In fact that guy even seemed to be having a decent conversation with the lady.

With these thoughts whittling about in my head I said, “OK, I'll pay”

Can't think of any way I can avoid coming here....

Finally I tweeted:

Can't get over how crooked, classist and partial the Honda service people were today. #Indians
Always dread these visits.

One Billion Beds

A place where you can go to when life falls apart. A place where you're always welcome.

Consider a huge shed with one billion beds. Outside is another shed with one billion toilet stalls.

To get in all you have to do is register with your thumb on an electronic thumb reader which will record and recognize you next time.

3163 x 3163 = 1 billion bed matrix

92 square kilometers for each shed.

Do You Deserve A Perfect World?

Banning birth into poverty.

It's been ten years since my original idea in 2003 which went something like, "Require financial capability for parenthood by law."

Then it became, "Basic financial capability must be a legal requirement for parenthood" around 2006.

And now it's simply, "Ban Birth Into Poverty".

All the while hoping that I would get supporters if I made it simpler. Didn't really work.

I wonder, does anybody care?

Does anyone understand that being born into poverty is the evil from which all other evils spring?

Of course you do.

You act like you don't.

Because you really don't care about anything other than yourself.

Do you deserve a perfect world?

Of course not.

My Tasty Magic Health Food

Serves 1

½ slightly ripening raw mango
2 tablespoons sambar powder
1 teaspoon tamarind paste
¼ cup water
1 big bun

Cut raw mango into medium-sized pieces with skin. Mix all ingredients except buns in a deep glass bowl. Microwave on medium for 2½ minutes or till mango becomes squishy. Break buns into very small pieces and mix thoroughly. Microwave on medium for 1 minute. Mix once and serve.

Note: You can use any masala mix instead of sambar powder and noodles or macaroni instead of buns. You can also add a handful of chopped bitter gourd and onion with the raw mango for more health benefits.

Passive Killing

Society is nothing but the constant legitimization of passive killing.
Passive killing is in fact all around you. Whether you notice it or not and whose side you take depends on what kind of person you are. Active killing is war or murder.

When we ignore, neglect or exclude people we don't like from our lives and society, we're killing them - passively.

Some day you'll be a victim of passive killing too and people will side with your murderer hoping to escape the same inevitable fate because that is how the society which you are desperate to be a part of works.

Society is where we put a smile on this activity and act as though no killing is really going on.

It's only a matter of time before passive killing turns to active. War is where active killing gets justified. Society is where passive killing gets justified.

Low Cost Podhome

New concept of home. Bedroom is ten feet long and four feet wide.  Bathroom is four feet long and four feet wide. Both separated by a space. In the bedroom a flat screen TV can be hung from the ceiling and there's also space for a few belongings under the bed or in wall shelves. These could be built as prefabricated homes on a large scale for a very low cost.
